Q1. How do I start a new group?

A1. Go to the Groups page, then follow the instructions and fill in the appropriate information about your group, such as category, image, etc. After registration, you are all ready to recruit members into the group!

Q2. What is a public group?

A2. A public group is a group where anyone can join, as long as they are a Gloo user.

Q3. What is a private group?

A3. A private group is a group where access to the group site and activities are limited to the members of the group only.

Q4. How do I join a group?

A4. Select the group that you want to join from the Groups page. If this is a public group; you will be directed immediately to the group site and become a member instantly. If this is a private group, upon indicating your interest, we will send an email to inform the group leader. Once the group leader responds to the email, we will inform you via email of your login name and password to the group site if it is successful.

Q5. How do I invite people to join my group?

A5. We have provided an email feature where you can invite your friends. This is available at the end of the group registration page as well as at the group blog engine.

Q6. Will my group be featured at the homepage?

A6. If your group is newly created or an active group, it will be featured at the homepage for a short period of time.

Q7. Can I be a member of multiple groups?

A7. Yes, you can be a member of any number of groups. But we do advise you to keep to a number that you can manage as inactive members can be deactivated by your respective group leaders.

Q8. How do I blog on my group site?

A8. As a member, you can access the group blog engine once you logged into Gloo. From there, you can start a new topic or blog entry online. You can also blog from your mobile.

Q9. What are the responsibilities of a group leader

A9. As a group leader, you will need to manage this group site, the members, the calendar activities and announcements. You can invite people into your group as well as upgrade (or downgrade) members as moderators. Group leaders, and moderators, also have access to edit/delete content on group site. You can also choose to accept or deny applications for group membership.

As a group leader, how active a group can be or how big it can grow to depends on you. Gloo provides the services to help you build this community.

Q10. Can I be a group leader to more than one group?

A10. Yes, you can be a group leader of more than one group but we advise you to keep to a comfortable number that you can manage.
